Default How can I burn CDs from a web browser? (running Drupal on localhost)?

I'm running Drupal locally hosted on a Windows XP machine. I need to be able to burn CDs from a Drupal page.

Right now I'm working with a command line program called CreateCD that I'm accessing through PHP command line functions. The problem is that it gives no feedback whatsoever to the user and PHP may time out before the CD is burned. I've also tried creating a .bat file with the CD burning commands, but it does not spawn a new window, even when given the 'start' command.

So:
Is there an better way to burn CDs from a web browser? (Can Java do this?)

Or, is there a way to get a terminal window to open from a web browser?

Thanks!
