Default Learning HTML+CSS

I want to learn HTML+CSS. I was just wondering if i spend at least 3 hours a day studying it how quickly will i be able to write it fluently?

Also, when people design websites do they learn ALL of the code or do they have a blank template of the code then add all the vital information?

Thanks

I think that depends on what you want to be doing with it...what you goals are. Sure, 3hrs a day for a week might help you become fluent in one small task, but only a couple of tasks. It took me several extra hours to understand the gist of C when I had to take it for a class, so I think to be able to make some worthwhile programs, it would take me at least a year of studying C for 3 hours a day.

I would agree, it really depends on how easy it is for you to learn the material. Not everyone is wried to learn programming so easy. I think if you set out to study 3 hrs a day though that that's an excellent start. After a month, you will have studied 64 hrs. Why not just start with that and see how it comes along?

Well, it's been a couple of weeks now. I'm curious, did you end up studying the 3hr per day goal? How did it work out? In my opinion 3hrs a day for several months is good, but not enough for people with little to no experience.

Yeah, how did it go? I've studies practically 0 hours since my last post in this thread...but that's because I've been busy with classes and content writing. When I can put in 3+ hrs a day for CSS, I know my options for my site will expand tremendously.

Default css and html

What is CSS?
  • CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets
  • Styles define how to display HTML elements
  • Styles are normally stored in Style Sheets
  • Styles were added to HTML 4.0 to solve a problem
  • External Style Sheets can save you a lot of work
  • External Style Sheets are stored in CSS files
  • Multiple style definitions will cascade into one
What is HTML?

HTML is a language for describing web pages.
  • HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language
  • HTML is not a programming language, it is a markup language
  • A markup language is a set of markup tags
  • HTML uses markup tags to describe web pages

Once you start building Web pages, you will want to learn the languages that build them. HTML is the building block of Web pages. CSS is the language used to make those Web pages pretty. And XML is the markup language for programming the Web. Understanding the basics of HTML and CSS will help you build better Web pages, even if you stick with WYSIWYG editors. And once you're ready, you can expand your knowledge to XML so that you can handle the information that makes all Web pages function. The information on this page will help you learn the languages that make up the Web.

thanks

If you spend the time wisely, you can probably learn them faster than you thought was possible. But you need to have the right resources. I would recommend the W3C School, it is packed with tutorials and training and even certification programs. And finding a good book or two can really help too, especially one with pictures, if you learn better with visual aids.
