According to Apple's website, the early '09 Macbook (all-white casing) has a miniDVI port. If this is the macbook you have, you need to buy a miniDVI-to-DVI adapter from Apple so you can connect to the T260's DVI port.

How old is the monitor, and do you leave it on all the time? mine started doing that, plus when it worked it looked curved on the sides,,,,,,, monitors do wear out,,,,,, i picked up my current one at a pawn shop, for 10 dollars,,,,

Well according to my suggestion, i would really recommend you purchase a second hand monitor and of some top leading company.
