Looking to upgrade the office firewall. I'm not CCNA, but some of the stuff says that a chap can configure one of these by his lonesome if he's motivated. I figured I'd ask here.
Our offices in one building with a Gigabit network hooked to the world via DSL that tops out at 6 mb/s on a perfect day. The vendor selling me the box wants to know if I want an ASA with 10/100 or GigE. Would I see any benefit from a GigE ASA firewall? Are these really that difficult to set up? Thanks. |

Like the Cisco PIX firewalls, the ASAs are based on Intel x86 architecture. The ASA series of devices run PIX code 7.0 and later. Through PIX OS release 7.x the PIX and the ASA use the same software images. Examples of emulators include PEMU and Dynagen [1], and with NetworkSims (Networksims) for a simulator.
