Default How to develop a device driver for my hardware?

Hi

For my project I need to interface my own hardware with a pc. This requires me to install that hardware right? How to code the device drivers for it?
I am an electrical and electronics student. So please tell me where I can find anyone to help me code the device drivers? (In chennai, preferrably)

Whoever does this will need to have a total understanding of hardware interfaces, and the different methods required to access them on different operating systems. They will also need to a real expert in coding with really good machine code knowledge. These kind of experts do not come cheap. I have seen companies bankrupted trying to develop speialised software.

End-user programs, like the UNIX shell or other GUI based applications (kpresenter for example), are part of the user space. Obviously, these applications need to interact with the system’s hardware . However, they don’t do so directly, but through the kernel supported functions.
