Default My lawyer notified me that I was selected for H1B in the lottery, but he

claims it's not a done deal yet, why?
I already paid the lawyer and I applied as I was supposed to do, through my employer...paid all the fees and all. I understand the process. What I don't understand is why do I need to wait after I have been randomly selcted for the visa/status to be processed? is it possible to be refused after you have been selcted for H1B? How long does USCIS take to process the visa/status after selections?
Just to explain myself, I use the word "lottery" because when you are rendomly selcted out of over a million people that apply, although you are one of the 65,000, that's still considered winning a lottery.
Thanks for you're answers in advance.

H1-b visas are not allocated by lottery. H1-b's can only be applied for by the employer.

Who's your lawyer and where? You've either been scammed or else you do not understand the process.

Because you still have to pay the fees to the Department of Homeland Security...and probably your lawyer too..
