Default Are there any laws about obtaining personal information about yourself?

that is being kept by a religious organization that you used to be affiliated with? I left an organization about 7 years ago and they have personal records about me regarding everything from time spent evangelizing to the letter and information about me asking not to be recognized as a member anymore. Do I have any legal way of getting those documents? Thanks!

kindof like the permanent record in school, eh?
lol

I doubt you'd be able to do it, since it's religious information you're seeking. It seems most religious information is protected by law, unless it has to do with some type of child endangerment.

you may ask for them back, in some case they may be obligated to keep certain documents, say for tax purposes or just in case you decide to take legal action against them. you protected, however, from them using or diseminating you info under certain privacy acts... i think your best case is to simply ask for them, be civil and go from there.

Wassup girl!
I actually heard that you have to have a lawyer request it! Isn't that a shame. Makes ME personally feel violated! Like what do they need that info for anyway!? They just need a paper shredder. Geez...what do they keep it for in case you go back and leave again? Kinda like a library book they can stamp your card?
heehee
