I am working on a short paper and I am having a few issues with finding a case that is similar to the scenario I have been given. "Your supervising attorney calls you from court and tells you that he is delayed and will not be there to meet the client coming in two hours. You tell him that the client just called, is coming in from out of town, and really wants to meet to discuss the case. The attorney tells you to "handle it." He will be back in the office as soon as possible.
You know the gist of the case: Your client has recently come out as homosexual. His coworkers at the factory where he works have been playing pranks on him. One coworker (the defendant) finally went too far, punching your client in the stomach because, when your client reached for a wrench, he accidentally touched the defendant's hand. The defendant overreacted and slugged your client. For the purposes of this assignment, please assume the only cause of action is against the co-worker (not the employer). I have been on Lexis Nexis for the last two days specifically searching for cases specific to MI, but at this point I am willing to take any relevant cases. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
