why am i not getting any money back when i put that i lost 20k in the stock market.?

You can't "get back" what you didn't send in.
If you didn't pay any taxes IN (have money withheld, or made direct payments), then there is no money to "refund". A refund is an overpayment. If you made NO payments, then you couldn't possibly have "overpaid", and be due a refund.
