Default What's the difference between the ROI from mutual funds and the regular...

...interest rates at the bank? I am thinking about investing in a mutual fund, but i just found out that the supposedly number 1 mutual fund and investor's choice in my country only registered a 5.38% ROI as of march 2008. In 2006, their ROI reached as high as 13.44%. Any suggestions on what should i do?

The ROI from a mutual fund is what you hope you will receive. The interest from a bank CD is what you will receive if interest rates remain the same. It is the old risk / reward ratio again.
