That is what basic training is for. To learn and train. When I first enlisted and ran the mile in reception I could barely get it under 10:30 min but by the end of training my fastest run time was 2 miles in 14:30. So don't worry about that. And your drill Sgt might call you out but don't let it get to you. The only real trick to getting through training is to remember that your drill sgt is there to make a soldier out of you and everything that they do is for that single purpose.

You will have plenty of physical fitness training in basic. The pt test that counts is given after you have been in training for a while. When I was in basic we were running faster than the passing pace in our morning runs in formation so the D.I's were already fairly certain that everyone would pass before test day.
Don't worry, you may not be in tip top shape now but the U.S. military is very good at solving that small problem. Enjoy your service to this great nation. I did. And if nobody else tells you this I still want to say thank you for doing your duty voluntarily and serving our great country.

Yes. Almost like the movies.
First, arrive the base and hear the sarge call your name when s/he check with a clipboard. And let the sarge give a speech. Drop your case at the barrack. Then, go to the "clinic" and then get some uniforms. Finally, take a PT test before having a nice long exercise.

They will always work with you, if you are over weight or outta shape they can put you into a physical conditioning platoon which works very well
but dont worry the motivation of a very angry very loud person yelling at you works wonders on a persons motivation to run faster atleast it did for me when i went to the marines
