i planing to get a lap top but i want to know how to set up a wire router i have a desktop but where do you connect it and how will it work with the laptop.

well u need a wireless router, you connect the wireless router to your modem, you can connect your desktop to the wireless router using a cat 5e cable, your wireless router will come with a cd to set up the wireless network fallow the instructions to set up the router and you will be able to connect to it using your laptop
