ALL I did was turn the UPNP settings off, and now the router address won't accept my password "admin". It has been "admin" since I got it and had worked until I touched that setting. Now I am completely locked out of my router, rendering it useless. I have never had and don't have a username for it. I tried typing admin in both, administrator on the top and admin on the bottom, nothing works, and I know I have the correct router IP because it prompts me to enter the username and password
I have a Linksys BEFSR41 V2. I tried resetting it and it won't work. This probably wouldn't work anyways because the username and password are embedded, the reset button is only for connections. I GOT IT!, what I did was use a firmware update for my linksys, and it reset everything. The button never works for me though

check here
http://www.cirt.net/passwords?vendor=Linksys and see if you can find your particular router. If that default username/password combination doesn't work, then it has been changed. You can hold the reset button on your router for 10-15 seconds (or until all the lights flash) and it will restore all factory defaults. You'll lose any of the configuration settings you might have set up, but the default username/password will work for sure.
