Can you play your PS3 online if your home computer does not have a wireless router?

well you can, but you have to plug the PS3 directly into the router. if it isnt wireless, then it has to be plugged in JUST LIKE your computer.
the ps3 does have a wireless adapter inside it, so you could go by a lynksys wireless router (like 100 bucks or so), and get yourself some wireless. but ya, it needs to be wired directly into the router via an ethernet connection, just as your computer is.
