I've got apache running, but how the hell do people know which computer to connect to? Because I give them my external IP, which is used across the internet, but I don't give them the specific internal IP of my webserver. How can I get people to connect to a specific computer (or webserver) on my network? Is this to do with settings in my router?

If they one LAN with you, you can detect them from workgroup in you computer.
And for router, this device is very smart for connect one to another. |
