I am re-learning Cisco equipment again. Last time I messed with Cisco equipment was 2004. I am on the topic of subinterfaces and I am confused on there purpose. I understand how to make them and all, just really dont understand there purpose. For example, one of the objectives in this book is creating a subinterface, connect a switch to it with two vlans and assign each vlan to its own virtual interface.
So does this mean create two subinterfaces overall, assign each subinterface to its own network and then create two vlans on the switch and assign each one to its own subinterface? Any guidance in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated. |
