I am currently in the process of making a website and I am trying to install a chatroom. I tried installing phpfreechat but it came up with an error does anyone have any helpful tips or a very easy php chatroom. Is it my directory i simply put phpchatroom anything else needed? thanks.
To create a mysql database what shall I call the database? Thanks again for all your responses
I've looked in Fantastico and can't find a chat room. Know the name of one which is in fantastico that I missed?

Make sure you have the database information right if it requires a database on installation (if you didn't make a database or don't already have one, go into Cpanel and make one).

Make sure the folder and file permissions are set correctly. This can be done by going into your FTP program and just right clicking on a folder or file and changing the number value in the permissions area. Check the documentation for the chatroom for the correct permission settings.

Other than that I would probably say there is something you are typing in wrong or you may have not edited a config file correctly or at all. Read all the Readmes that come with the installer and any online documentation as well.

I am pretty sure cPanel has phpMyChat as an app you can install. The wizard will allow you to install it for you, hence no copying files and setting up SQL databases.

Also look in Fantastico, which is usually bundled with cPanel
