Default Coldfusion problems?

I am creating my first dynamic web page in cold fusion but am not sure on a few things. I have a comment section which relies on a url variable(id) and the submit button has the code "bigimage.cfm?id=#url.id#&username=#url.userna me#" but it doesn't do what it should the id and username both equal 1 so the url will read "bigimage.cfm?id="1"&username="1"".is this resolvable??
I have a hiddenfield on a page that I want to use in a recordset filter to filter out database items due to number. The hiddenfield is called status but i can not get the recordset to filter it out by the hiddenfield and only ever filters to the value of one, its default value.

thankyou in advance
