Why is Google only picking up like 5% of my urls in my sitemaps?

Why is Google only picking up like 5% of my urls in my sitemaps?
I have even tried doing as they suggested and splitting the sitemap into 100s, but for every sitemap with 100 links, I'm getting between 3 and 6 urls indexed. Why? How does the process work when their bot goes to the sitemap?__________________________

becuase maybe your taging is to on the proper way !!!! so please chek your taging first ,and can you tell me how to get high ranking on our sites ?????
