Default I just installed AVG anti-spyware........?

and it's giving me a message saying,"you may not be protected,some components report an error.......then it says my anti spyware and anti virus data base is outdated....what does that mean?

no big deal U need to install updates. It's a wonderful system but it requires updates daily. set your avg preferences to automatically install updates and it will do it daily while running antivirus check Just a matter of settings No worries.

Its clear that you have to update your Anti virus Definitions from Internet. Just Press update button below the main window the problem will be resolved.so lets cheers...

I'm no pro, but had a similar problem yesterday. When you download an antivirus from somewhere other than a purchase, Windows may not recognize it. Also, the program you downloaded may not have had time to update yet....that might be a reason for it to tell you you're not protected. Give it time to update and see what happens. If you still get the error message, seek more help.

every time you have to update the anti virus or antispyware atleast once in a week you have to update it otherwise there is no use of antivirus or antispyware

You know, I'm not sure if this is rellevant now, but they have now released a new version 8 of AVG anti-virus.

The case is your update has out of date. So you press update button and update all need for your AVG.
Maybe after finish all, you need to restart your computer.

Hi dryann93....

Just run automatic update when you are connected to internet.
Anti virus is giving error because you have not updated your database since many times.
