Default How do I find the Network key for A WEP security connection?

Prefferably without having to check the router. Is that even possible?
Im trying to hook my Wii up to a WEP connection. How would that work?
I do own the router, it is upstairs where my parents are sleeping, and I can't disturb them.

Normally the WEP key is something that you set yourself by going into the router's setup interface and finding the "wireless" configuration settings. Of course, if you're not the owner of the router, and are trying to figure out what your neighbor's WEP key is, most of the individuals in here don't even want to talk to you, since it's somewhat illegal and highly unethical.

And William, normally I would agree with your statement that "It IS NOT written on the modem", however yesterday I was helping a client get their DSL up and running and set up wireless access, and a brand new "right out of the box" DSL Gateway/wireless router direct from Qwest had a cute little sticker on the top rear of the device, with the default WEP key printed on it, right along with the MAC address. Needless to say, the WEP key was one of the first changes I made in the configuration.

well being able to obtain the WEP key without checking the router settings would make it pointless to have security set up for the network in the first place, but, there is a little well known program out there named airsnort, for windows or linux, which recovers encryption keys. thats your best bet.

It IS NOT written on the modem. While the MAC address might be written on the modem, the WEP key is encrypted in the router/access point. Even with access to the router/access point, you cannot see it only reset it.
