I am currently using "zone alarm"firewall with vista premium,but i find
it a bit taxing on memory so,,,, could someone advise me on a good free firewall not so heavy on memory?

I'd go with Comodo too - I use it on my Vista machines - it's easy to set up and easy to use; a word of caution - Comodo offers to activate Defense+ as an added layer of protection; some folk have had issues with Defense+, including me)
