Are there any proxy servers out there that could be set up to require a user name and password when each browser session is started? They would also need to have monitoring features.
This business has several different sales people that share workstations throughout the day. Network logins for each user is unrealistic because they need to leave the order entry application open at all times. They need to keep the ability of processing orders for walk in customers quickly without having to logon to the network every time. The problem is that they also periodically need internet access for legitimate business purposes. We need some sort of proxy server with monitoring capibilities that identifies the user via a web session login as opposed to using the network login information. I'm thinking something like you find at some of the hotels, or coffee houses, where at the start of each session you are required to login. From there I am sure your activities are monitored for legal reasons.
