email account deleted, is there anyway to get it back?

email account deleted, is there anyway to get it back?
A former employee deleted his email account (hosted on the company's domain site). I've already contacted customer support with our host, but they aren't being especially helpful. I just want to know if it is even possible to retrieve the data. This employee may face legal recourse for actions he undertook as a representative of the company, which is why it is extremely important to get the info.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
