A Bid'ah is an innovation in religion with the intent to please Allah with that innovation. A Bid'ah is NOT the use of technology (i.e. computers, Internet), because these are means of seeking knowledge that are available to us.
What are some examples of Bid'ah? Samira: It's not an "evil" Bid'ah, but it's a bad Bid'ah......

Prophet's birthay celebration
some Muslims do a celebration on the 40th day after a person dies Some people gather after a janaza to read the whole quran for the dead. It is bidah because it is done like it is part of the funeral proceedings now. So if in some cultures if you didn't do it, people would think you did something wrong. these are some of the things that came to my mind because they are pretty common.....
