When eBay close "timewasters" accounts all they have to do is create another account and away they go.
Should they block the computers IP address stopping them from doing this. There is to many people bidding on items then changing there mind and not buying the item. I have to pay for the listing. I have to pay to have the advert relisted. etc etc. And why do people do that? Bid on items that you sell and not bother buying them. Thank you for your answers.

I've sold several items over the years on Ebay and only ever had one non payer. But I have heard from people who have sold items where the successful bidder subsequently went quiet and never paid. I suspect that these actions are not malicious, but the buyer concerned lacks responsibility and may even get situations where they have no or insufficient funds to pay for the item. What I think Ebay should do is to make sure that record follows these people, even if they change ID's but I suspect that is easier said than done. You may never therefore eliminate it. I have seen some sellers only permitting bids from people with an established feedback record ... they may well dissuade the offenders if we all insisted on that! Personally, I just go with the flow and if the transaction never completes, I think Ebay refund selling fees? But to be honest, Ebay is becoming so saturated with sellers, and their selling fees constantly rise, to the point where it is not a great market place any more, Ebay RIP!

Dude, that would be really useless because I can mask my I.P by jumping mulitple servers. So basically unless you expect them to spend fortunes tracking I.Ps it would not have any effect on the people who do that to be annoying. If it's people who make a genuine error, banning them would be a little harsh. Anyway, if you report these cases, e-bay refunds the fees you paid to have the ad up. So basically you put the ad up again and the only thing wasted is time.
