Default Does a foreclosed home auctioned by the Lender come with a clean title?

I am going to an auction (cash) and want to be sure I do not have to worry about any judgements/liens on the property. Does the title come clean since I would be the new Owner? What should I have concerns about? IRS? I would imagine the opening bid should include any outstanding matters..correct?
This is taking place in Contra Costa County, Nor Cali.
As of the search that I had someone do the title is clean, as of today. This bids next week.

It depends on the auction. Every state has their own laws and there are several types of "foreclosure" auctions. If you don't absolutely know the answer to your question before the day of the auction then DO NOT BID.

Most foreclosure auctions are really sit up for experienced bidders only and have a lot of pitfalls. Be very careful. It would be a good idea to watch a few auctions first without bidding and talk with some of the experienced buyers about your questions.---then check out what they told you and see if it is correct.
