Default How do you use your voice to command attention?

Okay guys, I am looking for some resources that teach how to be a good speaker. I don't mean public speaker but just a speaker in general. I have noticed that some people command attention by the way they speak. What can I do with my voice to be a more attention grabbing speaker? Does anyone know any resources that teach this?

Speak with authority and confidence. You'll lose your audience quickly if they have to list to a lot of "um" or similar fillers that indicate you aren't sure what to say next.

I agree with her. I am in sales and I must command attention. Speak with authority but also with compassion so that you do not come across as arrogant. Also, try learning a word a week from www.dictionary.com
People do judge you by the words you use. If you have a plethora of words in your arsenal, you will become more pragmatic and magnanimous. Just kidding, but you will become much more confidant in your own speech.
