Default How to make a conference call on Australian Phones?

OK, well. I'm in a friendship group of six and we all love the advantages of three-way. But when we decide to put another person on the line, it never ever works. I've researched it and every method turns out to be a flop. Does anyone out there know how to make a conference call that actually works?
Thanks in advance
